The first day after the storm I got out in the neighborhood and spent as much time as I could walking around with my camera. It was still snowing and I had not dressed warm enough, so I wasn't out as long as I would have liked. We still have some great snow and ice out so hopefully I can still get a few more pictures before it melts away. I love the snow and the ice. I'm of the mindset that if it's going to be cold, we ought to have the snow and ice to go along with it (more so snow than ice). Otherwise, the cold just annoys the heck out of me. There were a few trees in the neighborhood like this that I got some pics of. It was a bit windy so it was somewhat of a challenge to get the shots, but overall, I came away with some that I was really proud of.

Buddy!
Here's a picture of Buddy having a BLAST out playing in the snow. He was going crazy running all over the place like a bunny rabbit hopping through the snow drifts and getting covered in snow.

Winter Storm
I'm not quite sure why, but I really like this picture. I like the delicate balance and detail the camera was able to capture. The small branches with ice covered with a dry snow that allows you to see snowflakes in detail. I also had the camera set so the background is blown out, leaving the foreground in focus which helps draw out the details.

Winter Storm
This picture was taken in our backyard. I was amazed at the massive amount of snow each tiny, narrow branch was able to hold above it. An eighth of an inch thick branch would have six inches of snow gracefully resting above it. A very serence and peaceful thing to see.
